Den 12 august 1922 tog en kreds af borgere initiativ til at stifte en ny klub. Stedet var Paulsen Gæstgivergård på Skibbroen. (Senere Bondestuen, som lå, hvor nu Skibsreder Jebsens kontorbygning ligger), Den første bestyrelse kom til at bestå af følgende: Toldforvalter Ludvigsen (formand), Gæstgiver Paulsen ( næstformand), Postassistent Carstensen ( sekretær), Repræsentant Andersen, Overportør Jensen, Snedker Petersen, Arkitekt Jensen og Entreprenør Preisler.

The Yacht Club was formed in 1965. The Abbey Marina accommodates 407 vessels. It was designed and built with one thought in mind, to serve the boating world with quiet and safe anchorage in a setting with services and facilities that are unequalled, located on the beautiful Geneva Lake.

Aberdeen and Stonehaven Yacht Club (ASYC) is based in the northeast of Scotland. Dinghy sailors make up most of the membership, though there is a small cruising section with moorings in the tidal harbour at Stonehaven.

The Club has a wide range of facilities for yacht, speedboat and cruiser owners spread over two club houses, with jetty and pontoon moorings available for members’ exclusive use. The Club has around nine hundred members and their families, hailing from over 35 different countries.
