With yet another pirate attack on a yacht in the waters off Somalia, various agencies have now issued the following guidelines to avert or avoid a potential boarding:
‘Keep your engine tuned to minimize emissions and cut fuel bills’
Boating in all its forms has the potential to impact on the marine environment and legislation exists to ensure that pollution is minimised and that the marine environment is protected.
‘Next time you change outboards, chose 4 stroke. They are up to 50% more fuel efficient than a traditional 2 stroke.’
There are many things do while preparing your boat for transport but being organized and proactive can help the task become much more manageable.
