The Ultra System provides excellent results say boat owners
Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, 6th – 15th January 2012, Stand C130

At this year’s Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd (UAL) announces that its innovative Ultra System continues to prove its effectiveness in preventing underwater fouling as boat owners give glowing testimonials after lifting their boats for the first time since installation.

Since its launch to the market, the highly advanced Ultra Series I and II have been installed on more than 1,500 sail and power boats worldwide and are providing excellent results in a wide variety of salt and fresh water conditions in all climates.

“I recently lifted ‘Freyja’, a 31ft Botnia Targa, after 10 months in the water and I am extremely pleased with the results. My main concern was whether the system would work on the two stern drives, but I took the recommendation to install two transducers and can say that the drives were considerably better than they were previously after 6 months in the water,” comments Tim Topper from Poole, Dorset. “Normally I would expect to antifoul the hull approximately every 10 to 11 months and lift in between for a power wash. I intend now to keep the boat in the water continuously for the 10 to 11 months and then only refresh the waterline and any other worn areas as required.”

Using environmentally friendly high frequency, low power sound waves to destroy algae and to prevent weed and barnacle growth, the Ultra System is a revolutionary way to protect a hull from fouling using multiple sweeping frequencies designed to discourage or destroy the majority of fouling organisms. Following considerable design development of its much praised antifouling system, the design engineered Ultra Series II is far easier to install and incorporates a professional streamlined control box and a new low profile transducer which is 15% more efficient and can be disconnected from the cable for fitting with watertight plug connectors.

Available in separate sailboat or powerboat versions, the Ultra Series II ensures owners enjoy their boating to the full by helping to drive down their annual expenses by increasing fuel efficiency and speed, cutting lift-out and repainting costs and dramatically reducing the amount of work needed on hull preparation each season.

UAL Director, Nick Griffin, commented: “It’s great that customers keep coming back with excellent feedback, proving that the Ultra System works in a range of climates and on boats of all sizes. With the introduction of the Ultra Series II last year, we are confident that the system will develop the ultrasonic market even further as boat owners begin to better understand the benefits and especially with the increasing legislation surrounding the use of biocidal antifouling paints on recreational boats that release harmful substances into the water.”
