These solutions enable regulatory authorities to control fishing and the position of vessels at regular intervals
 
Les Ulis, February 13, 2012 - Orolia (NYSE Alternext Paris - FR0010501015 - ALORO), a group specialised in positioning, navigation and timing GPS equipment and systems for critical operations, announced today that it has been awarded a contract worth around 500,000 euros for the supply of a Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) for the observation of fishing fleets. This new contract follows two recent awards by the French and British maritime authorities for the provision of "e-navigation" solutions, and, is another example of the rise of Orolia in the location based services sector.

"This new contract demonstrates Orolia’s progress in the market of offshore electronic tracking devices, in just two years it is already worth more than 8% of our turnover," explains Jean-Yves Courtois, CEO of the group. "Our expertise in the development of positioning equipment and communications via offshore structures operating in particularly harsh environments (high shock or vibration, high humidity or dust, immersion etc.) and in the design of associated supervision software, allows us to offer complete systems giving our customers the ability to control remotely and in real time their operational status.”
 
Delivery of these VMS will take place throughout 2012.
