Team Sperry Top-Sider adds two athletes from Sweden

Anton Dahlberg and Sebastian Östling will represent Sweden and Sperry Top-Sider in 2012 Olympic Games

Leading global nautical performance and lifestyle brand, Sperry Top-Sider® announced today that Swedish athletes Anton Dahlberg and Sebastian Östling have joined Team Sperry Top-Sider. Just last month, Anton and Sebastian took part in the Rolex Miami OCR and their positioning secured their place in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Anton and Sebastian, 26 and 27 years old respectively, both had their own separate successes on the water before meeting at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2006. Racing in the 470 men’s class, the pair competed in the Beijing Games in 2008 where they placed fifteenth overall.

Craig Reingold, President of Sperry Top-Sider, commented: "Anton and Sebastian have worked incredibly hard to achieve their current Olympic status and we are thrilled they will represent both their country and Sperry Top-Sider as brand ambassadors.”

The addition of the 470 men’s class sailors from Sweden brings the current number of Sperry Top-Sider athletes to 35, with 23 of them representing six different countries in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Three more athletes are expected to qualify for the Games in May when Anna Tunnicliffe and Sally Barkow’s teams compete for a place in the Women’s Match Racing Class at the US Match Racing Olympic Trials in Weymouth.
