No zip design frees movement and keeps body temperature regulated
The Speedskin suit from Gill has seen many evolutions since its launch for the Olympic Games at Savannah in 1996, but the new model for 2011 is truly a revolution,
Using hi-tec ultra stretch 1.5mm neoprene, the suit is designed to provide a layer of thermal protection for the performance dinghy sailor that does not restrict movement or flexibility in anyway.
A key to designing a suit with ultimate stretch is removing the need for a zip, and the materials used here do just that. The amount of stretch is such that you simply step in to the suit.
Once inside, the contoured design fits ergonomically next to the skin, the lightly brushed lining makes the suit easy to put on and extremely comfortable to wear, but is also highly water resistant.
Dinghy racing. We've got it covered
Every single garment in the Dinghy range has been designed to aid performance on the water.
This ethos runs through the entire collection from Knee Pads to Speedskins. Performance led dinghy gear has never been offered in such an appealing and comprehensive package...until now.
Highlights of the collection include the UV Aero Vest, which provides excellent UV protection (UPF 50+), and gives the trapeze sailor a safe and convenient method of reducing both wind drag and snagging.
The styling allows the top to be worn over additional layers such as wetsuits and buoyancy aids and the unique cut-out section allows easy access to harness hooks.
Gripper elastic at the hem also reduces movement of the garment during active use.
The new Inshore-Warm Jacket is highly versatile for inshore day sailing, or onshore as a stylish winter jacket.
The 2 Dot™ fully taped and laminated fabric provides a breathable durable water repellent finish, whilst the brushed tricot lining gives a soft finish inside for the wearer. The thermal qualities come from a non-absorbent quick drying insulation layer which offers an excellent warmth to weight ratio.
The detailed collar has a fleece lining and the lightweight stowable hood is designed to fit neatly inside it. Additional features include Velcro cuff adjustments, a draw cord on the hood and lower hem and an internal multi-media pocket for an MP3 player or mobile phone.
The important left chest area has been left free for personalisation, and the internal ghost pocket makes team branding a simple process. The Inshore-Warm is available in men’s, women’s and junior styles, with a choice of colours.
Christmas gift ideas for all boaters
Gill has updated its range of headwear for protection against the elements.
The Beanie range offers a casual look with a technical twist: the Cable Knit Beanie, the Stripey Knit version, and the Women’s version all feature an internal headband for cold weather comfort.
The i3 Polarclava is lightweight and wind resistant. It is made from a soft stretch fabric, anatomically shaped, and with flat locked seams. When the full head protection is no longer required, it also doubles as a neck gaiter.
Perfect for extreme environments, the i4 Storm Hood combines a breathable, stretch, thermal fabric with the windproof softshell, and offers full-face protection with laser cut vents at the mouth and ears for easy communication.

Cold wet hands are a nightmare for any sailor, but the Gill Neoprene Winter Gloves are designed to keep your hands warm and dry.
Using a 2mm neoprene for insulation, with a PU hexagonal print for grip and durability, the seams have a glued and blind stitched construction, meaning that the stitching does not penetrate through the neoprene providing a more watertight seal.
An innovative Aquafit™ cuff design using high-stretch material creates a really comfortable and watertight seal around the wrist.
