Massimo's hulls have won two of the last four World Championships with Sami Selio of Finland at the controls of his Mad Croc Team BABA in both 2007 and again in 2010 and hopes to win this weekend as well as the tour stops this weekend for the Grand Prix of Ukraine in the town of Vyshgorod just north of Kiev on the 28th and 29th of July.

“We have been unlucky so far this season as we chase our first victory this season,” said Roggiero, the winner of three Grand Prix victories.

The second event of the season was an historic start with Norwegian driver Marit Stromoy holding her own with first Team Abu Dhabi driver Ahmed Al Hameli first jumping the start and then sliding over and then making contact with Marit but continuing on before finally crashing out on lap nine falling into a hole and barrel rolling to a stop.
Runner-up in the 2010 championship, Qatar’s Jay Price has also got a new team mate, Alex Carrella who proved a sensation in his first season in F1 last term, as a member of the Mad Croc brigade. China’s line-up has not changed from 2010 with Pierre Lundin and Philippe Chiappe representing CTIC China. Abu Dhabi also feature their 2010 duo, Thani Al Qamzi and Ahmed Al Hameli and this term, they are hoping for a gold medal after coming so close for the last three season.

F1 Powerboats - Doha “Drama” - A Race Full of Surprises!

Well, there has been plenty of “drama” historically, as the stage is once again set for the Grand Prix of Qatar to be played out on the very challenging five turn 2.0 kilometer race circuit along the corniche around the dazzling downtown waterfront of the city.

The UIM F1 H20 World Championship for powerboating is beginning it's tour of the Middle East and the final push to determine a World Champion for 2010. The Eighth Grand Prix of Qatar will play a pivotal role in deciding who's number one in the world on the weekend of November 26th and 27th.

Under a bright sun and stiff breeze which produced choppy conditions, the twenty strong fleet set off at a blistering pace with Carella leading the way. Jay Price and Thani Al Qamzi were expected to be chasing a top five place but Price was relegated to the back after changing a powerhead while Al Qamzi was sent to the tail end after missing the parade lap as his crew fixed a leaking hull. The challenge to the leading duo came from Francesco Cantando and fellow Italian Fabio Comparato.
