This September, National Boat Shows (NBS) is hoping to break several world records at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. Between 11 – 20 September, organisers are gearing up for the world’s largest number of people to send a semaphore message, as well as attempting to break the world record for the most amount of people to take part in a speed dating event. Andrew Williams, Managing Director of NBS, comments: “The record breaking theme of the Show ensures that visitors not only enjoy a fantastic day out, they have the chance to make history too. We are fully committed to smashing the records and securing a place for our visitors and the Show in the Guinness World Record books!”

| MSC NAPOLI SALVAGE OPERATION IS FINALLY FINISHED 30 July 2009 (693 reads)
Hugh Shaw, the Secretary of States Representative for Maritime Salvage and Intervention (SOSREP) officially declared an end to the salvage and wreck removal operations of the MSC Napoli on Thursday 29th July 2009, 924 days after it all began.
The MSC Napoli was beached at Branscombe on Saturday 20 January 2007 and since then there have been several salvage and wreck removal phases aimed initially at removing her fuel oil, then her cargo, and ultimately the wreck of the MSC Napoli itself.

Belfast will be awash with fun for all the family, with a sea of activities for all ages during the biggest event to be staged anywhere in Ireland this year.
Four days of festivities – from fireworks to funfairs - are planned to mark the fantastic finale to the 2009 Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge, which will see more than 30 of the World’s finest sailing vessels berthing in Belfast from 13 – 16 August. From Custom House Square to Pollock Dock, the former Stena terminal to the Odyssey, Belfast’s riverside will be transformed into a ‘city within a city’ – with the emphasis very much on fun.

| BOATSHED SELL 24 BOATS IN ONE DAY 29 July 2009 (930 reads)
The team at Boatshed.com are considering rewriting the words to a certain song as they really do like Mondays, especially last Monday July 20th when the Boatshed.com Yacht Brokerage Group posted a record 24 boat sales in just one day! The boats included a wide range of boats from a 16.5m Bruce Roberts Euro 1600 motor boat to a Hunter Duette sailing boat.
Neil Chapman the managing director of Boatshed.com commented " We can't put our finger on exactly why we had good boat sales last Monday, generally we have been very busy since the start of 2009 and we keep breaking our records month on month.

| HUGO BOSS TO TAKE ON THE LEGENDARY FASTNET RACE 28 July 2009 (419 reads)
British solo round the world sailor Alex Thomson will be joined by a host of talent onboard the newly re-fitted Open 60 HUGO BOSS for the 2009 Rolex Fastnet Race.
Joining him onboard will be former Olympic skier and adventurer Graham Bell, Sir Keith Mills (Head of the British America's Cup campaign Team Origin and founder of the Air Miles International Group) and Rob Greenhalgh, twice veteran of the Volvo Ocean Race and recently crowned Skiff World Champion. Navigator Andrew Cape will also join the crew for the race. Andrew 'aka Capey', recently completed his sixth lap of the planet alongside Rob onboard PUMA Ocean Racing during the last edition of the Volvo Ocean Race. Capey is no stranger to Alex Thomson or HUGO BOSS, after securing second place in the Barcelona World Race with Alex in 2007.

The show, now in it’s 30th year has been hailed in the press as the “Best Used Boat Show on the South Coast” and Premier are proud to continue with this event. Lymington - On Saturday 19th September The Royal Lymington Yacht Club will host the second BIBOA Lymington Challenge RIB Race.
Open to everyone and anyone with a RIB, the event was last held nine years ago and designed to allow all boat owners the chance to race competitively and to have fun on the water. The race was a huge success, over thirty boats took part and ever since, the organisers have been pressured to put on another event.
