Barton Marine, one of the world's leading manufacturers of marine deck hardware has lent their support to the RNLI lifeboat station in Burnham-on-Crouch which is trying to raise money for their boathouse appeal.

The volunteer crew at the lifeboat station is restoring an abandoned sailboat which will be raffled off at the upcoming Tullet Prebon London International Boat Show, and Barton Marine has donated over £700 worth of products to help aid the team's project.

Barton has supplied the restoration crew with a host of deck hardware including genoa cars, fiddle blocks, winches, T-track, traveller car and end fittings & caps. These products will go a long way to helping with the difficult task of restoring the Hunter 19 Barangoola to her former glory ready for the boat show in January.

The restoration project is part of the 'Boating on a Budget' initiative from the Marine Trades Association (MTA), which has been spearheaded by MTA Committee Member David Lewin. "We are delighted that our Boating on a Budget campaign will be a prominent feature at the forthcoming London Boat Show. It has two simple aims, one to raise much needed funds for the RNLI's boathouse appeal in Burnham-on-Crouch and the second is to demonstrate that anybody can go sailing, whatever their budget," said David.

The Hunter 19 Barangoola will go on display at the British Marine Federation stand during the 2010 Tullet Prebon London International Boat Show and visitors will have the chance to win the boat by purchasing a £5 raffle ticket with all donations going to the Burnham-on-Crouch RNLI floating boat house appeal.
