MARINE DNA ACQUIRES BOATBITZ TO EXPAND PRODUCT OFFERING

Marine DNA Ltd has acquired the UK on-line marine equipment retailer, BoatBitz.co.uk, as part of an expansion program into the marine general hardware business. 

Marine DNA Ltd is a joint venture company with Bristol based Marine Electronic Services Ltd and London based, Cactus Navigation Ltd as investors - two of the UK’s leading specialist marine electronic resellers.  It aims to introduce an expanded product offering to their 60,000 combined customers. 

BoatBitz has been established for 5 years and has grown to offer over 12,000 items of marine hardware through its comprehensive online site.

Heading up the new operation will be David Williams.  "Marine Electronic Services and Cactus will continue to focus 100% on marine electronic products and will have a cross marketing relationship with Marine DNA. 

The business will also be able to leverage its operation with a new showroom and significantly advanced logistics and IT capability," commented David Williams. 

Marine DNA expects significant opportunities in the chandlery market through the expanded product offering and the Company will also be developing an own brand range of products for boat builders and the marine trade for introduction later this year.
