PETERS & MAY SAVES THE DAY FOR HYDRA-SPORTS BOAT DELIVERED TO THE SHOW

Southamtpon Boat Show 10th - 19th September 2010
Stand F031

Last minute refinements meant that the cutting-edge 2500 VX Vector Series Fishing Boat was transported by the leader in global logistics, Peters & May, via air, road and sea to Southampton in advance of the Show. The 25 foot boat arrived in the UK within just three days of departing the US factory, travelling over 5,000 miles.

Louise Cowley of Mastercraft & Hydra-Sports comments, "it was paramount for the 2500 VX to reach the show in Southampton quickly and in pristine condition and Peters & May provided a completely effective solution to a highly demanding challenge".

Following the road haulage of the 2500 VX Vector Series from the factory in Tennessee, the boat and crate were flown by Peters & May from JFK Airport. The precious shipment flew just under 3,765 miles to Luxembourg before being collected by a specialist truck bound for the UK, which reached the destination via ship across the English Channel.

The Peters & May offices in the USA and UK provided solutions for each element of the shipment, all of which were co-ordinated by Christina Roberts, based at the Peters & May US head office in Illinois who states that "with the remit being that this boat had to reach the UK within a specific timescale, we explored many options. The selected route and transportation methods even allowed time to spare for the final essential boat show preparations".

Hydra-Sports boats are now produced by MasterCraft, a quality American boat builder who recently acquired the company manufacturing and selling premium fishing craft for the leisure market. Hydra-Sports is exhibiting the superb 2500VX model for the first time, at stand C001A, since becoming part of the MasterCraft group.

Peters & May, exhibiting at stand F031 in Mayflower Park, has over 30 years' experience in the provision of marine logistics and offers global boat transportation and freight forwarding via air, road, rail and sea from a global network of seventeen offices and numerous exclusive agencies.  The company ships over 8,000 vessels each year through more than 150 ports in over 60 countries. Peters & May is the preferred shipper for many of the leading marine manufacturers and associated businesses exhibiting at the show, including Fountaine Pajot, Correct Craft, Gulf Craft, Sunseeker and Viking Yacht Company and regularly works with Oyster, Lewmar, Fairline Boats, Henri Lloyd, Lagoon and many others.
