'GREEN FINGERS' AT MDL'S MARINAS GET REWARDED

'MDL in Bloom' 2008 Winners Announced

MDL's marinas have been blooming nicely with garden displays and floral arrangements as the company announced the winners of its 4th annual 'MDL in Bloom' competition at the recent PSP Southampton Boat Show 2008. Initially suggested by staff at Port Hamble Marina, the competition invites marina teams to reclaim the gardens back and treat them as their own.

Nicola Walsh, Manager at Shamrock Quay and organiser of MDL in Bloom 2008 says, "It was a real pleasure to be involved in this year's competition. It was fantastic to see such a high standard of entries across a range of categories - the sites look amazing!

14 of MDL's marinas entered this year and we also received our first international entry from the recently opened Sant Carles Marina in Spain. Staff take pride and add their own personal touch to the marinas - one of the entries included a superb tomato hanging basket display, which added a wow factor to their outdoor garden feature."

MDL Marinas rewarded gift vouchers and trophies to showcase at each of the winning marinas. Many sites picked up awards, including Hamble Point Marina, Ocean Village Marina and Dartside Quay across a range of categories, such as best hanging baskets, best tubs and containers, best indoor plants and most improved site.
