FREE THE QUAY - MISTLEYS CHRISTMAS JAMBOREE
The sun is forecast to shine on Sunday's Free the Quay fundraising Jamboree
in Mistley.

Local bands Skagill and Surfquake are to perform in a pair of snazzy marquees on the village green', specially decorated for the occasion.

Renowned local cook Badu is serving up an Indian feast, while chefs from The Thorn are preparing a traditional barbeque and hotdog stall. Mistley Quay Cafe has baked a range of cakes, and alcoholic and soft drinks will include mulled wine, tea and coffee.

Santa's grotto and Stop the Fence chocolate fudge will keep the kids happy, plus a tombola and gift stalls. And of course, if you're looking for stocking fillers, now's your chance to pick up one of the last remaining Men of Mistley calendars, £5.

The jamboree kicks off at noon, and will end at 4pm. Entrance is £5 per adult and children come free. Visitors will be directed to free parking on the quay and in New Road. Mistley Green is across the High Street opposite the quay, down the side of The Thorn pub.

Free the Quay is still hoping to take part in talks aimed at resolving the dispute over the quayside fence with the owner of Mistley Quay Michael Parker, but he has not yet responded to an invitation issued several weeks ago by mediator Tendring District Council.
