Avon Inflatables, the UK's leading manufacturer of RIBs and inflatable boats, has revealed that six Adventure 6.20 RIBs were used in the making of one of the biggest ever 007 boat chase sequences featured in the new James Bond film, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, which was released in the UK on 31st October.
Daniel Craig reprises his role as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in QUANTUM OF SOLACE, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures release of EON Productions' 22nd adventure in the longest-running film franchise in motion picture history. The film is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and directed by Marc Forster. The screenplay was written by Paul Haggis and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.
Filmed in location in Panama earlier this year, the boat chase sequence - which took three months of preparation and comprised of more than 100 support boats - features two Adventure 6.20's in pursuit of James Bond 007, played by actor Daniel Craig.
Other than being painted entirely black for the film shoot, the Adventure RIBs were supplied as standard production craft and not modified for the film sequence, which is a testament to the design and construction of Avon's '4 x 4's of the water'.
Commenting, Avon Inflatables Managing Director Alan Morgan said, "It was a privilege for us to work alongside Sunseeker International to able to supply these boats for use in QUANTUM OF SOLACE. It is the fourth consecutive time that Sunseeker's world-leading luxury motor yachts have made an appearance in a James Bond film, and we are delighted to be associated with both Sunseeker and QUANTUM OF SOLACE."
