Hybrid Marine Ltd collaborates with E.P. Barrus Ltd for the final development, testing and marketing of a Parallel Hybrid Saildrive system based on the Yanmar range of marine engines. 

Hybrid Marine a leading developer of Hybrid Electric drive systems, is pleased to announce that it is collaborating with E.P. Barrus Ltd, the UK distributor for Yanmar engines UK in the final development, assembly, testing and marketing of what will be the most technically advanced and cost effective Parallel Hybrid Saildrive solution available to the market.

As part of the agreement Barrus will have the marketing and distribution rights through their authorised dealer network in the UK. It is anticipated that there will be a strong demand from both OEM boatbuilders and the retro fit market servicing existing vessels.

The system will initially be exhibited at the 2009 ExCel London Boatshow on the Barrus stand S16a (January 9th – 18th) and a further raising of public awareness will be achieved with attendance at key international boatshows through 2009.
