VOGUE PR JOINS BLUE SHEETS MARINE DIRECTORY

Southampton based journalist Abbie James founder of Vogue PR joins The Blue Sheets Marine Directory this January to further establish her name within the marine market.

The company’s varied PR background in fashion, television, charity events and even pop video promotion took a turn in a new direction in 2007 when Vogue won the contract to run the PR for the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat race series.

Vogue’s fresh outlook on the marine industry brought a wealth of enthusiasm to the world’s largest off-shore race series which revived the company and placed it within the public eye at its highest level to date. And with plans already in place for the 2009 season Vogue is looking forward to exposing the series even further.

“It is a great challenge to be part of such a popular sport. I have a new found love for the water since working with the powerboats and have even had the opportunity to drive a few. Since we started work Vogue PR has attracted varied media attention for the series both nationally and internationally gaining unprecedented world-wide television exposure on ITV4, Men & Motors and Setanta, not to mention involvement with other prime time television programmes like Islands of Britain; How Do They Do It and Blue Peter”, said Abbie.

Despite cut backs in Formula 1 the year ahead remains positive for the F4SA series as Honda continue to support the five events which will take place from May onwards. The focus for the year remains heavily on the series 10th year anniversary which is a mile stone in sports sponsorship and Honda are proud to be a part of the celebrations ahead.

“Our plans for 2009 are much the same and we anticipate yet another great year for the sport. The driving force behind any sport of this size will always be its financial backing and commercial awareness, however with the amount of support we have generated over time our spectator numbers will always raise a demand for the series to come back year on year making this a viable event to sponsor”, said Abbie.
