Clipper Ventures Plc announces today the sale of the Assets and Brand of Zapcat Racing to Martin Jupp the Managing Director of ZCR Ltd.

Zapcat Racing is the largest one-design offshore powerboat racing class in the world and 2009 will be the 8th consecutive year that UK Championships have been held.

Martin Jupp is also the Managing Director of Vortex Racing Ltd - the UK’s leading Zapcat Dealer and Zapcat Experience / Events Company and whose race team are current National Zapcat Champions.

Martin said, “This is great news for both Clipper Ventures and ZCR as it allows Clipper to concentrate on their core business of major yachting events including the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race and for ZCR to market and develop the Zapcat Racing series further in the UK and Europe.”

 “My team have been working around the clock over the last couple of months to secure this deal and we could not have done this without the commitment and support of several key members of the Championship organising team.”

The Zapcat Racing Championships will commence in May and will feature at coastal resorts around the UK, ending in September at Watergate Bay, Cornwall.
