VIAREGGIO - TELEMAR YACHTING, www.telemar-yachting.com, the Viareggio based superyacht electronics company providing Navigation, Communication, Audio/Video Entertainment systems, Computer Integration, Security Systems and Airtime to the world's superyacht industry has just completed the design and installation of the navigation and racing system, communications, VSAT internet data, entertainment package plus tvsat for a new 130 foot Wally Ocean Racer CANNONBALL, the fastest monohull yacht in the world today.

CANNONBALL's comprehensive package included a complete suite of specialised B&G racing electronics designed by Telemar's Racing Specialist Paolo Tagliapietra.

"From an electronics standpoint, a racing yacht is a completely different challenge from a normal superyacht, the placement and presentation of the equipment must be optimised to enable the crew to get the highest performance out of the yacht" said GM, Andy Gifford, "We are very fortunate here at Telemar to have a person with Paolo's experience head up this project."

Telemar Yachting's Italian sales director, Tagliapietra, is a veteran of international racing projects including the Moro di Venezia and Prada  America's cup challenge.  He will continue as navigator when CANNONBALL enters the Maxi Rolex Cup Porto Cervo later this year.

"A large racing yacht is the marine equivalent of a Formula 1 racer, it is a very unforgiving environment," said Tagliapietra, who heads Telemar Yachting's racing division, '"Bottom-line, it has to be perfect."
