Are you fun, single and want to break a world record? If the answer is yes then we’re looking for YOU! Come down to the PSP Southampton Boat Show and hit the nautical dating scene on Sunday 13 September to join in what could be the world’s largest ever speed dating event, in association with Heart FM.
Prospective lovers should head to the Show’s new Banana Wharf restaurant at 4.30pm on Sunday 13 September to start their search for a soul-mate. Once there, those taking part in the event will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly and prepare to take a place in history as Show organisers attempt to break the current speed dating world record. In keeping with the nature of this fast paced event, daters will have just one minute to decide whether their partner is for keeps or quits before moving onto the next singleton!
The current world record stands at 252 people, so organisers are keen to attract as many people as possible to this world record breaking attempt! To register, simply email your name and age to boatshow@publicasity.co.uk by Friday 11 September 2009 for discounted tickets to the Show as well as your chance to enter the record books.
Mike Enser, an organiser of the PSP Southampton Boat Show, commented: “This is speed dating with a difference – not only could our visitors meet their perfect match, they could become a world record holder in the process. Who knows, next year could see our very first wedding held at the Show!”
In association with ITV Meridian, the Show runs for 10 days from 11 – 20 September in Mayflower Park and will see 122,000* visitors exploring 500 exhibitors and over 1,000 boats. From watersports to lifestyle, there is something for everyone to enjoy and visitors are encouraged to get on the water themselves with the choice of trialling a yacht or RIB – a perfect choice for a first date, sailor-style!
