Essex Boatyards, the UK's leading boat sales centre and sole UK importer and distributor of the Four Winns range, is launching the new Four Winns SL222 at this year's PSP Southampton Boat Show. Making its European debut at the Show, the 6.88m (22'7") Four Winns SL222 is the latest edition to the SL Series and includes a fusion of features from deck boats, sport boats and ski boats, which will equally appeal to water sports enthusiasts as well as those seeking a relaxing day on the water.
The signature Four Winns Stable-Vee® SC hull ensures a smooth ride, superior lateral stability, planning with minimal bow rise and unbelievable cornering on the water. The elongated bow provides a skid-resistant platform for boarding, lounging in the seating area, or securing the anchor.
The spacious and wide cockpit is designed to provide an entertainment area with dedicated space at the helm for optional GPS, and an iPod*/MP3 port with four stereo speakers. Cockpit seating includes super-wide Comfort-RideT, plus seats with flip-up bolsters. Both cockpit seat backrests can be adjusted to form backrests for lounge seating and a water sports spotter seat. Seating stretches along the starboard side and an ingenious sun lounge with headrest graces the walk-through area.
The integrated swim platform lies low, and is standard with a slip-resistant mat or genuine teak. The hidden deep-reach ladder makes access to the water very easy and comfortable and an aft shower is also included.
The attention to detail in the design of the SL222 offers customers a feature packed boat, with standard features such as a modern control panel at the helm, a stainless steel windshield header, an innovative portable head enclosure which provides a swim suit changing area or shade from the sun, and a canvas bimini top.
Plentiful storage is placed for efficient space usage and even includes a compartment large enough for skis, a mesh-sided bag for carrying damp gear as well as an anchor locker with hidden telescopic ladder that provides the perfect space for storage when the anchor is not in use. Optional extras include a heater and table for the cockpit.
The hull finish is available in six colours, including two new options for 2009; a stylish pastel blue and pastel yellow. For a rich, nautical feel, teak trim is an option for the bow, swim platform, and other areas throughout the boat. For a more personalised look, the Art Series features original artwork created just for the SL Series, which includes 'air' and 'sunset' editions with coordinating stripe at the waterline.
Catering to water sports lovers, Four Winns also offers an Ultimate arch package on the SL222 that includes a stainless steel arch with ski tow and custom built top, board racks, tower lights, and four extra stereo speakers. Plus, the Four Winns Ultimate stereo upgrade includes Sony speakers, a second amplifier, and a transom speaker switch. Combine the two Ultimate packages, and the SL222 morphs into a water craft that lingers in a wakeboarder's dreams.
A range of engine options are available, from 270hp up to 320hp.
