London International Boat Show 2009, Stand S13A
BRP Recreational Products UK Ltd is introducing new technology and innovation as the next generation Sea-Doo(®) PWC make their UK debut at the London International Boat Show. Setting new industry benchmarks for 2009, the new Sea-Doo GTX(?) Limited iS(T) 255 and the RXT(®) iS 255 models each boast industry-first full suspension and braking systems, controlled by the Sea-Doo exclusive iControl(T) system for optimum performance.
The new, highly intelligent Sea-Doo technologies on the flagship Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS 255 and the RXT iS 255 models significantly enhance control, security and handling for PWC riders. The user-friendly Sea-Doo iControl system is the brain that integrates and controls all systems on these models. Its innovative technology allows the rider to adapt the watercraft on the fly to different riding styles, changing water conditions and a wide variety of other situations.
The GTX Limited iS 255 and the RXT iS 255 models feature the world's first full suspension on a PWC, the Sea-Doo Intelligent Suspension(T) (iST) System which delivers the smoothest ride of any PWC today. The impact from the waves is absorbed by the suspension, allowing the operator and passenger to ride longer distances with more comfort. The iS system comes with factory set calibrations and is totally adjustable on the fly to adapt for personal preference and changing conditions. An Auto Calibration setting constantly monitors the stroke of the suspension and automatically adjusts the firmness to deliver the smoothest possible ride by independently compensating for changing water conditions and passenger load.
The exclusive Sea-Doo Intelligent Brake and Reverse(T) (iBRT) on these models significantly increases watercraft safety by providing the ability for rider-initiated and controlled slowing, stopping and improved obstacle avoidance. A lever on the left handle bar controls braking, allowing both hands to remain on the handlebars at all times. iBR also helps improve rider confidence and control in low speed manoeuvring and mooring.
The new S³ hull design contributes to the performance of the smooth, stable ride by reducing drag and keeping the hull 'glued to the water'. The hull is exceptionally strong and is very tolerant to lateral wave impacts, resulting in very little roll or change in direction from this cross motion. The longer length provides more room for passengers and allows the hull to bridge waves better for a smoother ride. It also enables a lean-in riding style that enhances the feeling of security and confidence for riders when cornering.
The new deck on the 2009 GTX Limited iS 255 and RXT iS 255 models brings a next generation look and functionality to the water as well as significantly improves many aspects of access and convenience. Key new features include a tilt steering system where the handlebars and gauges tilt together, hinged seat, splash detectors and a pop-up fuel filler.
Visitors to the BRP stand (S13A) will also be able to find out details about the upcoming Sea-Doo Experience Demo Days in 2009, which will offer people the chance to step on a Sea-Doo PWC and test the latest models for themselves.
