London International Boat Show 2009, Stand S13A
BRP Recreational Products UK Ltd is launching new low horsepower Evinrude(®) E-TEC(®) outboard engines to the UK at the London International Boat Show. Broadening the line-up for 2009, the new Evinrude E-TEC 25 hp and 30 hp outboard engines deliver the highest fuel efficiency and most power in their competitive engine class.
The engine technology and superior results are proven with five years of E-TEC technology success and a rigorous testing program. With a 576 cc displacement and 142 pound weight, boat owners will enjoy the advantages of quick acceleration, high power and low fuel consumption that these new lower horsepower engines provide.
Ergonomically designed for easy operation, the 25 hp and 30 hp engines feature a more compact and integrated pull handle that locks in place; standard electronic adjustable idle speed control; as well as a trim and tilt switch that is located at the end of the twist grip. The sleek, compact design includes a folding tiller handle for convenient carrying and storage. The tiller handle incorporates a unique 'touch troll' button, which acts like a cruise control to allow easy adjustment as well as enable boat owners to maintain an optimal trolling speed.
Operators can rely on the high 15 amps of net output for additional power to operate onboard electronics. Each model includes a rewind rope starter so a dead battery will never keep owners from enjoying their day on the water.
To commemorate 100 years of Evinrude outboard engine innovation, the 25 hp and 30 hp engines will feature an anniversary year graphic design for the 2009 model year.
Also on display at the Show is the new Evinrude E-TEC 130 hp engine. Ideally suited for RIBs and fishing boats, the 130 hp boasts low speed running capabilities and the lowest RPM of any engine in its class, making it well suited for slow speed trolling while providing precision control during mooring and other slow speed operations. The BRP exclusive exhaust valve utilises the full peak horsepower of the engine while retaining all the low-end torque for pulling skiers, wakeboarders or planing heavy loads. It also delivers an uncompromised top speed.
On selected days during the Show, visitors will also be able to view the Evinrude E-TEC 130 hp in action when Bob McCarthy will be demonstrating his Evinrude powered Bernico racing boat in the marina on the Royal Victoria Dock. Bob McCarthy, who has been involved in national Offshore Circuit Racing (OCR) for nearly 20 years, is currently testing the Evinrude E-TEC 130 hp for the A class of the OCR.
The BRP stand is once again also host to several boats equipped with Evinrude, including the Nordkapp Enduro 600, powered with an Evinrude E-TEC 115 hp outboard engine. The stepped hull on the Nordkapp Enduro 600 makes the boat easy to handle in rough seas, giving a soft ride and the feeling of being on a larger boat. Each Nordkapp model is pre-rigged with Evinrude to offer owners a high quality, powerful and efficient boat package. From 2009, Nordkapp boats will be distributed in the UK by Devon based Wills Marine Ltd, which has a fleet of models available for customer demonstration in the UK.
Check out the BRP stand (S13A) at London for more information about the Evinrude line-up, which features a wide choice of engines ranging from 25 hp up to 300 hp, each offering low maintenance with three years or 300 hours no dealer-scheduled maintenance. Alternatively, see www.brp.com.
