Nordhavn 47 set to draw the crowds in Southampton once again

Nordhavn Europe has chosen the Nordhavn 47 to appear at Southampton Boat Show this year, confident that this beautiful, award winning ocean cruiser will once again be a highlight of the show. The Nordhavn 47, is not only one of the most successful Nordhavns ever but was the winner of the Trawler Yachts and Aft Cabin Cruisers category of the Shoreguard sponsored Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2007, and was also short-listed for the 2008 prize.

We've had a 47 at various European boat shows over the last few years and the buzz still hasn't died down. When launched in the USA by builders PAE, the Nordhavn 47 quickly became the most successful new motor yacht launch in the company's history. The innovative use of interior layout, enhanced by the voluminous design, gives this motor yacht an extremely spacious and light appearance. The design not only provides the interior space but also assists in her exceptional sea keeping qualities, unusual for a boat of this size. The Nordhavn 47 therefore has the appearance and feel of a much larger vessel.

The Nordhavn 47 has a high bow and broad beam, designed to punch through heavy head seas with reserve buoyancy that builds confidence in even inexperienced skippers. Her robust construction, heavy-duty hardware and ship-like design all work in perfect harmony to create an extraordinary vessel that can take her owners anywhere in safety and comfort. Cruising efficiently at up to 9 knots, the Nordhavn 47 is equally as comfortable cruising inshore waters as making more substantial passages at sea. With a range of over 3,000 nautical miles the Nordhavn 47 can carry enough stores, water and fuel for weeks of self-sufficient cruising.

On deck the 47 is safe and comfortable to move around with easy access to the flybridge and forward Portuguese Bridge, traditional with most of the Nordhavn designs. The upper helm area has a panoramic view for easy manoeuvring while a rear deck has ample space to stow a full sized tender.

The main saloon has access from the aft deck and is sumptuously fitted with seating and dining table, together with a breakfast bar opening to the galley which is comprehensively equipped. The main helm station in the pilothouse provides a full navigation area and access to the deck. The superb master cabin has an en suite bathroom while a separate head and shower room serves the spacious guest cabin. The engine room has excellent headroom to provide simple maintenance for the main engine, separate wing engine and generator.
