On show on the Marine AV stand, D30, at The 2008 Southampton Boat Show

Recently appointed as the exclusive European marine products distributor for Florida-based loudspeaker, subwoofer and amplifier manufacturer JL Audio, Marine AV are pleased to introduce the JL Audio range to the British and European boating press.

JL Audio Marine produces a range of high-fidelity loud speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers designed to withstand the toughest marine environments. All are made using marine quality materials – stainless steel fasteners, powder-coated aluminium chassis in their amplifiers, solid-brass connectors, UV-resistant Centrex polymer speaker baskets and moisture-proof driver diaphragms.

Amongst their latest products is the MX-Series of coaxial speakers. Engineered for marine duty, the MX650 is designed to be a direct drop-in replacement for most marine 6.5inch speakers and can handle up to 125W. It exceeds the industry standards for Salt-Fog and UV exposure and comes with a two-year warranty.

As with most other marine coaxial speakers, component systems and subwoofers in the 2008 JL Audio Marine range, the MX650 will be supplied with a choice of two distinct styles – the modern spoke-design Sport and the traditional slat-grill Classic - and in two different colours – all white and titaniun/black.

Also new this year is the M770-ETX-CG enclosed tower coaxial speaker system, a 7.7inch coaxial speaker designed to be fitted to wakeboard boat towers. Unlike most other enclosed speakers, the M770 are fitted inside glassfibre enclosures with a gelcoat smooth finish that matches the quality and construction of the boat.

To power the speakers, JL provide a range of marine amplifiers. The M-Series covers amplifiers for driving subwoofers to versatile two-channel, four channel and six channel full range amplifiers with power outputs up to 600W. The full-range amplifiers use patented Absolute Symmetry Class A/B technology for all channels to give a superb, high-quality balanced output.

To ensure the best sound quality, JL Audio also provide a series of audio interconnects, power leads and speaker connection leads suitable for the marine environment.
