Powerboat P1 Official Champagne partner Taittinger supplied drinks for a champagne reception for the championship at this week’s PSP Southampton Boat Show. The event was attended by a number of luminaries from the series, including #69 Honeyparty.com team boss and throttleman Richard Carr and #77 Lucas Oil pilot Shelley Jory.

The pair were celebrating their success in last weekend’s Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea. Carr’s #69 Honeyparty.com scored its first win of its debut season in the Spanish-based event in Saturday’s Sprint race and took overall Grand Prix of the Sea spoils, while Jory and #77 Lucas Oil team boss and throttleman Nigel Hook secured a season-best second place in the Sunday Endurance race.

“It was good to catch up with old and new friends and to raise a glass of Taittinger with Richard Carr to celebrate his race victory in Vigo at the weekend,” said Powerboat P1 CEO Jim O’Toole. “The PSP Southampton Boat Show is huge, covering all aspects of the marine industry, and it’s certainly a ‘must visit’ event for the entire marine world.”

Taittinger supplied complimentary champagne for the Southampton reception, as they do for all Powerboat P1 hospitality at events and for the Grand Prix podium ceremonies.
