The London International Boat Show returns to ExCeL from 9-18 January 2009, celebrating 55 years of bringing the best of boating to the nation’s capital.

There will be hundreds of fascinating boats on display; from historic replica vessels to the latest in marine technology.  With over 500 exhibitors showcasing power and sail boats, dinghies, engines and electronics, deck equipment, sailing courses and more, the Show promises to offer something for everyone, whether a boat-lover or a first time visitor.

The London International Boat Show offers the perfect showcase for the marine leisure industry, providing exhibitors with a platform to debut new products to a captivated audience.  Familiar faces such as Garmin, Fairline, Jeanneau, and Henri Lloyd as well as new exhibitors such as Helly Hansen, Tacktick Ltd, Sea Ranger and Dean & Reddyhoff will represent the breadth of the industry in categories from sail to power and from chandlery to electronics, and will use the Show to demonstrate their current range as well as new product developments.

The Main Stage – Powered by Fairline will host the official Show opening and will be central to numerous launches, activities and announcements throughout the 10 days, including the winner of the Design a Sail competition.  It will also stage the sequel to last year’s star attraction, the Sea Queen Stage Show.  The new show, ‘A Mermaid’s Tale’, will amaze visitors with daring aerial displays, extreme acrobatics, energetic dance and uplifting music.

Situated in the North Hall of the ¼ mile long ExCeL building, the ‘new look’ interactive Deck Games area (supported by Micro Magic and Yachts & Yachting) which will feature a 20m indoor pool where visitors can try their hand at canoeing, kayaking or model boat racing.

For those interested in older, traditional boats, the popular Classic Boat feature (sponsored by Classic Boat, Old Pulteney and International Paints) will be giving practical demonstrations on how to care for older boats, and there will also be an update on the Cutty Sark conservation project, all in the North Hall.

To complete the visitor experience, a trip outside to the Marina is not to be missed; the Marina will feature a selection of inland craft as well as some of the largest exhibitor boats in production which physically cannot fit through the doors of ExCeL.

And when visitors’ feet need a rest, there’s no better way to relax than meeting up with old friends and swapping boating anecdotes, enjoying a Guinness at the Black & White Bar, now serving a selection of drinks, or at our special Clubs & Associations Bar as well as the popular Sunseeker Champagne Bar.
