P1 Superstock - Shelley's Back in business
Jory-Leigh returns less than 12 months after crash
UK power-boaters will be pleased to hear that Shelley Jory-Leigh will be returning to racing with P1 SuperStock – the British racer has traded 9-5 working and shopping for the adrenalin rush of racing as she steps off the land and back onto the water.
It was less than 12 months ago that the shocking images of Shelley’s crash circulated on the internet. Speculation and rumours were rife, the crash was serious and it would have certainly ended the careers of many of the toughest racers in the game. However, the lure of racing and life at speed on the water has proved a big hole to fill within Shelley’s life.
The return to racing wasn’t just a gung-ho reaction to the boredoms of civvy life. Safety has played a vital role in the decision, the P1-28SS’s impressive spec and safety list helped the racer that a decision to return was the right one.
Fans not only in the UK will be pleased to hear the news that she’s back, but will the other racers? Shelley has an impressive racing career and that gold medal place is much sought after, 2011 SuperStock race series is going to be a thrilling watch as Brusby, Jory-Leigh and Wilson meet out on the rollers and take this racing to the edge.
Blue Sheets fans will notice that our very own Dan Smith (Blue Sheets 2) will be joining Shelley in the new boat as navigator.
Who will you back? The odds are out of the window, it’s anyone’s game.
