P1 SUPERSTOCK - SUPERSTOCK HITS THE AIRWAVES
You may be forgiven for not recognising the face or the name – but if you’re into racing boats then the voice is unmistakable. Steve Ancsell is the Murray Walker of British powerboating.
Over the past five years, Steve’s tones have brought the thrills and spills of powerboating alive as thousands of spectators tune in over a race weekend.
This year, Steve from Airwaves Media Productions will be providing ‘the voice’ for the SuperStock Championship. Visiting race fans will be able to tune-in to the commentary at events via FM headsets that’ll bring all of the action directly to their ears. Not only will the racing be loud and clear, you’ll also get the full low-down on which bands are rocking out the main stage, where you can get some great food and more importantly where you can score an ice cold beer.
Robert Wicks, Powerboat P1 chief operating officer, commented, “We are delighted to be working with Steve Ancsell of Airwaves for a sixth year. Steve has a strong record in delivering media production for Cowes Radio and many of the major yachting events around the world. Our new FM transmission will be welcome by the thousands of spectators at our Grand Prix of the Sea.”
If you can’t make the event, then you can still capture the atmosphere by tuning into the Powerboat P1 website where we’ll be bringing you the same audio stream.
The first Powerboat P1 SuperStock event will take place in Penzance, Cornwall on 21-23 May
