Day three (Wednesday 02 November) and it was yet another busy day on the water at Coniston as competitors made the most the mornings much improved weather conditions.
 
Now half way through the week, and over 100 record attempts have been made with a host of national and world records already established.
 
In the fastest run of the week, so far, at a staggering 124.59mph, Ian Wright blasted his way to a new NS2000 2.5litre EPA record.  Ian plans on hitting even higher speeds in the coming days in a bid to improve on his national record and claim a new world record.
 
Matt Wood in the clubman 1000 set a new national record at 56.51mph, before later topping his time at 56.08mph, while Peter Hart also set a new national record for the S1000 class at 58.64mph.
 
In the VP2.75 Chris Loney set down a new national record at 85.76mph, before heading back out increasing his new record to 86.60mph.
 
Brian Peedell in class 3B also claimed another new national record at 62.81mph, with Dean Gibbs setting a new national Marathon A class record at an impressive 110.16mph.
 
 
Eleven year old Ben Jelf was also back out on the water and clinched another record with a new national UKFFORC S250 record at 31.36mph.  Still determined to claim a new world record, Ben will no doubt be back out blasting along the course in a bid to clinch the record tomorrow.
 
“It’s been a really busy day out on the water today”, commented Nicola Drummond, RYA Powerboat Racing Officer.  “Conditions were not ideal but to still go ahead and set nine national records was a fantastic achievement and to have so many people here testing themselves and their boats is a great testament to our sport.”
