Powerboat P1 this week signed a contract that will see the Croatia city of Split host the fastest growing offshore series in the world.

The three-year deal was signed by Powerboat P1 Commercial Director Robert Wicks (pictured right) and the event's promoter in Croatia Tomislav Blago Misetic.

Wicks commented:  "It is a pleasure to have concluded a long term agreement with our partners in Croatia and with the wonderful city of Split. The Croatian Grand Prix of the Sea will no doubt become a highlight on the P1 calendar in years to come."

Split is to host the opening round of the 2010 Powerboat P1 World Championship season on 16, 17, 18 April next year.
