Anglo-American pilot and Powerboat P1 stalwart Nigel Hook is to compete at next month's Key West World Championships alongside Swedish driver Michael Silfverberg.
The duo will form the new #77 Lucas Oil Scandinavian Offshore Challenge team for the event which takes place from the 8th - 15th November. They will pilot the Skater P1 with Mercury power, which won Hook the World Championship back in 2006.
Silfverberg, a native of Stockholm in Sweden, has spent a lifetime on the seas. A former commercial captain and navy submariner, he is also a leader of the Super Marine yacht dealership back in Sweden, and is optimistic about the team's chances in Florida: "I feel very confident racing with such an experienced pilot as Nigel. I'm looking forward to racing in Key West, and have a very good feeling about this."
Veteran pilot Hook is equally as focused on the job in hand: "I've test driven on the water with Michael at speeds in excess of what we'll be running on the Key West track, and I'm keen to play out our race strategy."
