Just 6 months ago Nathan Parker of Southampton experienced first hand the thrill of Zapcat racing when he attended an experience day with Southampton Zapcat specialists Vortex Racing. As he turned up for his experience day he had no idea that his Christmas present from his girlfriend would see him co-piloting in the World’s largest one design powerboat championship.
Nathan has just finished his first season in the Zapcat National Championship finishing a fantastic 13th in the championship overall and part of the Vortex team that took the Zapcat Team Championship Title.
After completing a fantastic season Nathan approached sponsors Vortex racing for their help in giving other people the opportunity to experience the thrill he did but this time in the name of charity. In conjunction with his employer City Link Nathan and Vortex sponsors have called on the services of fellow racers and Vortex experience drivers to offer people the chance to have a blast in a Zapcat for the reduced price of £40 per person.
With all proceeds going to CHASE Hospice Care for Children & Children in Need, Nathan shares why he’s hoping the day will be a huge success and raise lots of money for both the charities “CHASE Hospice cares for & supports children and teenagers that will not live to reach their 19th birthdays. 6 months ago I was given the chance to experience something I never thought I would in my lifetime, I was given the chance to race in the Zapcat National Championship something that the kids that CHASE supports could only dream about. I approached my team sponsors Vortex about us helping City Link raise money for CHASE and they were well up for it. Zapcat racing is such an awesome experience and we want to give other people the opportunity I had to get involved with the sport and raise some money for a very worthwhile charity in the process.”
