Powerboat P1 has announced a key partnership with South African broadcaster SuperSport, which will deliver its World Championship series to over 2 million households across Africa next year.
The agreement will see highlights of the 2009 championship, which begins at the end of March with the Bahrain Grand Prix of the Sea, screened by the pay-television channel provider across Sub-Saharan Africa.
"We are delighted to have agreed this partnership with the leading sports provider in South Africa," Powerboat P1 Commercial Director Robert Wicks said. "The appeal of our exciting and glamorous motorsport championship continues to gather momentum, and over the past few years we have seen a period of sustained growth in both the worldwide TV audience figures and the number of dedicated Powerboat P1 broadcasts."
Powerboat P1's provisional 2009 race calendar sees the World Championship visiting a number of new European host cities, as well as returning to established venues such as Malta and Portugal.
