Powerboat P1 fans will be able to get a real taste of the sport at Grand Prix of the Sea events and boat shows this year, as the championship has unveiled a new simulator that allows fans to experience the adrenaline-fuelled action for themselves.

The two-seater simulator – designed in conjunction with FX Simulation - will be on-site in the exhibition area at all seven Grand Prix of the Sea events in 2009, as well as at a number of major boat shows.

For just six euros a ride (three euros per person), budding P1 racers can get a first-person view of some of the hottest action of the season, experiencing it like never before.

Actual onboard video footage from the boats will be synchronised with the hydraulics of the simulator to recreate every pitch, roll and bounce that the crew’s themselves experience, giving a real ride to remember and a genuine taste of Powerboat P1.

The simulator will also have benefits for teams and sponsors, with the ability to show short advertising messages before the main feature.
