Class 1’s official Championship photographers, Simon Palfrader and Raffaello Bastiano struck gold in the UIM’s 11th annual photographic competition, winning two out of six categories.

Simon won the gold medal in the offshore category for his image of SeveneleveN, taken during the Mina Seyahi Grand Prix in Dubai, and also picked up the bronze medal in the retouched category and also in the offshore category.

Gold in the retouched category went to Raffaello, his third gold medal in four years, for a dramatic ‘off-water’ shot in Dubai, also winning silver in the atmosphere category.

This year’s competition received over 250 submissions from 26 photographers, from 13 countries.
