POWERBOAT P1 - EVOLUTION CHAMPIONS TO RECIEVE TROPHIES IN MIAMI

The 2008 Evolution class champions – Fountain Powerboats and Ilmor High Performance Marine Engines – will be formally presented with their championship trophies at this weekend’s Miami International Boat Show.

Both companies are celebrating back-to-back title success in the Evolution class after pilot Craig Wilson and throttleman James Sheppard dominated the 2007 title fight, and then successfully defended their crown in 2008 in the Ilmor V10-powered #99 1st4boats.com Fountain Worldwide entry.

Fountain Worldwide president Craig Wilson, Fountain Powerboats CEO Reggie Fountain Jr and Ilmor High Performance Marine president Paul Ray will be on hand to accept the trophies from Powerboat P1 commercial director Robert Wicks.

“These awards recognise the excellence demonstrated by these manufacturers and the value of Powerboat P1 as the premier global marketing platform for the marine industry,” Wicks said. “This second annual award further recognises the leadership roles of Ilmor and Fountain, whose early participation in Powerboat P1 encouraged a host of other US marine manufacturers and teams to participate, which helped spur the growth of our race series.”

The presentation will take place at 11:00am on Friday, February 13 in Fountain Powerboat’s display booth in the Miami Beach Convention Centre.
