F4SA - TEAM HYDREX PREPARE FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

Reigning Honda Formula 4-Stroke 150hp Champions Jak Cockman and Andy Phipps have said that there’s still plenty of room for improvement for 2009 despite the unbelievable season they had in 2008. The pair dominated the 150hp class last year in drainstore.com with some incredible racing which earned them their top place title.

The team are introducing new Sponsor Hydrex for 2009. The company specialises in the short term rental, contract rental and sale of mobile plant and equipment within the rail, industrial, extraction and construction industries. Hydrex entered the Motorsport arena in 2002 by supporting Nik Elsmore in various rounds of the British Rally Championship and has recently extended their involvement in motorsport to include Offshore racing by closing the deal to sponsor the new Hydrex 150hp boat for the Honda Championship.

“Now with the new Sponsor on board there is even more incentive to win and reward them for the support they are giving us this year. It is a good team to be a part of because of their big influence in motorsport. Their superbike team is one of the biggest in the paddock and they want the boat on show at brands hatch for the British Superbike race”, said Jak.

“My thoughts on next year are obviously the same as always, to win. The same as everything I do I have to win. There aren’t really any teams I am looking out for at the moment, I mean you can never tell until the first race, the obvious are the guys who finished near the top last year but we will still be very switched on when we get out there. Andy and I are really looking forward to the first race and having the Hydrex Racing coach there”.

The team recently took the boat to Middlesbrough to Hydrex Racing H.Q for their press launch, which will feature in many of the top motorcycle magazines. The team see the partnership with Hydrex as a great bonus because of their keen interest in motorsport and enthusiasm towards the teams continued success in the Honda Series.

“The trip up to Hydrex Racing gave the new boat trailer a good run and I am now told that it will now do 80mph so it looks like we will be the fastest on the road and water. As a team will be looking forward to Wales not only for the racing but also seeing all our good friends we have made in this series. So from one pumped up team to another, we would like to wish all the competitors a safe and successful 2009 in the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Championship”, said Dave Cockman - Hydrex 150hp Team Manager.
