OSG yesterday unveiled its new Outerlimits SV40 boat for the new Powerboat P1 World Championship season, with pilot Giancarlo Cangiano immediately pledging to "bring the title back to Naples".
Cangiano and co-pilot Hannes Bohinc were on hand to present the new boat alongside regional councillor Mr Cascetta and Snav managing director Mr Aiello in southern Italy and the OSG duo were keen to discuss their credentials for the 2009 season.
"We are aware that we are among the frontrunners for the P1 World Championship title," Cangiano explains. "As a team we are 110% committed to bringing the title back to Naples."
Austrian Bohinc, who return to the P1 World Championship for the 2009 season, is impressed with the boat's improvements which include several technical innovations.
"We had the chance to test the boat a few weeks ago and it is amazing. The hull and engines are really competitive and we are aware we are among the favourites for the championship.
"We are experienced and tough pilots, the pressure doesn't scare us. I will race with all my energy in order to bring the world title back to this beautiful city - Naples."
Snav will be the main sponsors of OSG, while Marinella and Circolo Canottieri will also act as sponsors of the team.
"With the world in the middle of an economic crisis, I am delighted and honoured to receive the support of two Naples-based companies."
The first Grand Prix of the Sea starts with the PowerPole on the 8th May in Malta.
