Bournemouth’s bustling beaches will play host to the inaugural rounds of the 2009 Zapcat National Championship on the 30th & 31st May.
Around 40 Zapcat teams will descend on the popular seaside resort for high octane adrenaline action as they kick off the 2009 Championship.
Ex-Zapcat Champion and partner in ZCR Ltd, the new owners of Zapcat Racing Mick Pritchard explains why Bournemouth is the perfect location to get the season underway “Bournemouth is a fantastic location for Zapcat Racing and a brilliant first venue of the season, It provides unpredictable conditions that can be flat calm in the morning and produce taxing swells in the afternoon, giving rookie racers a taste of the different conditions they will experience at different locations throughout the season.
“Many of the teams are based on the South Coast making Bournemouth an easy location for their supporters to come and see all the action up close as we launch off the beach and race right next to the pier which provides perfect viewing of the action.”
2009 will be an exciting season for Zapcat Racing, with the new owners attracting new teams and new sponsors the championship is already going from strength to strength.
The 30th & 31st of May will see 40 teams battle it out in 2 divisions to see who can take the top podiums on both days. Results from each day will go towards the seasons championship standings but will also see one team crowned the Tohatsu Bournemouth Grand Prix Champions.
