POWERBOAT P1 - CRANEFIELDS WINE BRIMMING WITH CONFIDENCE
POWERBOAT P1 - CRANEFIELDS WINE BRIMMING WITH CONFIDENCE

Siegfried Greve has pledged to right the wrongs of Malta and put in a memorable performance in Turkey next month as the #66 Cranefield Wines team attempt to break into the Evolution class top three.

Despite a promising Sprint race on the Saturday in Valletta, the Cranefield Wines crew were unable to race in the Endurance the following day due to engine damage.

“What transpired was the worst thing that could happen. It was very disappointing. We were really keen to race on the Sunday but the severe engine damage stopped us completely. The problem lay with the engine overheating.”

Greve confirmed to www.powerboatp1.com that the Falcon 43 hull is fit and ready to race in Istanbul and that the team will head to the Bosphorus later this week.

The 56-year-old from Hamburg continued: “I am really looking forward to the next Grand Prix of the Sea in Turkey. I am fully aware of the history of the Bosphorus and my heart is beating fast already. As powerboat racers, we are in a special situation as we are in a special position of promoting the Powerboat P1 World Championship to a new audience. However, this brings with it pressure.

“The aim for the remainder of the season is to come back strong and win points in every single race. The ultimate aim is to finish in the top three.”

Cranefields Wine currently lie in fifth place in the overall championship standings in the Evolution class with 66 points.
