POWERBOAT P1 BIDS TO ENHANCE FAN EXPERIENCE
POWERBOAT P1 BIDS TO ENHANCE FAN EXPERIENCE

P1 seeks to create history when the Championship heads to Gothenburg for the first time on August 7-9.

Spectators are expected to pack out two FanZone areas at Frihamnen and Oscar II Fort - the latter is normally closed to the public which was last opened for the Volvo Ocean Race in 2001.

The fort alone presents a fascinating experience as it is one of the only remaining First World War strongholds and has remained unchanged since it was built in 1907. Most of Oscar II Fort cannot be seen by the public but during the Powerboat P1 race weekend guided tours will be available.

As well as tours of the fort, facilities in the FanZone area will include refreshment tents, music and commentary of the action courtesy of Viasat.

Shuttles will run between Oscar II Fort and the second FanZone area in Frihamnen starting from 1100 every day.

The FanZone facility in Frihamnen will feature an area for exhibitors, entertainment and an interactive section for supporters. Exhibits will include jet skis and powerful racing boats whilst the entertainment will consist of up and coming bands, dramatic on water demonstrations and helicopter rides. Big screens will show live action racing.

The interactive area will contain gaming units courtesy of Nintendo Wii, kids activities and the Powerboat P1 simulator will also be in action all weekend.
