POWERBOAT P1 - PILOTS RELISHING GOTHENBURG CHALLENGE
POWERBOAT P1 - PILOTS RELISHING GOTHENBURG CHALLENGE

The cream of Powerboat P1's talent are anticipating a weekend of racing to remember as the series heads to Scandinavia for the first time.

#88 SNAV OSG are the in-form team to beat in the Evolution class after landing the Grand Prix of the Sea title in San Benedetto del Tronto following two race wins.

Driver Hannes Bohinc cannot wait for the racing to begin. "This will be a fantastic venue; we are all looking forward to enjoying the Swedish hospitality, racing in Gothenburg and putting up a fast and exciting show."

Nigel Hook, team owner and throttleman of the #77 Lucas Oil Outerlimits hull is predicting a huge turnaround in fortunes following a weekend to forget in Italy earlier this month.

"I have never been been to Sweden before but I think that two first place finishes are achievable.

"We are keen to visit Sweden and would like the water to be rough. The team looks forward to every race as each one is an adventure."

Federico Montanari, of Supersport's #28 Blue Shaft, are keen to re-ignite their 2009 season. The team sit sixth in the standings with 302 points and need a good display in Gothenburg to pressurise the teams above them.

"We are really, really excited and optimistic for the Grand Prix of the Sea in Gothenburg. Goteborg. It is our first time in Sweden and we are anxious to test the boat with some important improvements."

Like Montanari, #44 Iko Casa's Shelley Jory has not been to the country before and is forecasting a "fantastic weekend".

The design of the Gothenburg course excites Daniel Cramphorn, Team Principal of British hopefuls #26 Team SW1 Capital.

"Both Kim [Collins] and myself have taken a look at the course and it looks fantastic. I have certainly never raced in anything like it. Racing around the islands sounds and looks like a lot of fun, albeit very demanding - though that is not necessarily a bad thing!

"I think we will do well in the next couple of races as the waters become rougher. Such conditions will play into our hands as our boat was set up to race in rough waters."
