F4SA - HONDA POWERBOATS PUT TO THE TEST AT BIGGEST LINE UP IN THREE DECADES 30 August 2009 (254 reads)
Honda Formula 4-Stroke Association (F4SA) the World’s largest two class powerboat race series staged the fourth leg of their 2009 championship race season today (August 29th) in the line up for one of the Cowes-Poole-Cowes races; part of the Cowes Powerboat Festival which included the famous and legendary Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race.
All three races started concurrently at about 10:30am a little later than scheduled; with a fleet of 50 or so Honda and Offshore Racing Drivers Association (ORDA) craft plus over ten Sports boats and 20 Marathon class contenders. Once underway the entire fleet left the vicinity of the Red Solent Bank Buoy and headed West in one of the most spectacular race line ups in almost three decades.

The Honda Formula 4-Stroke (F4SA) the World’s largest two class offshore powerboat race series are set to perform this Saturday August 29th in the Cowes Classic Powerboat Race the Cowes-Poole-Cowes.
This race forms part of the Cowes Powerboat Festival which includes the famous and legendary Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race. As part of the Honda F4SA’s tenth year anniversary celebrations, the series have enlisted the help of TVYachts, the first dedicated television channel to showcase the world’s finest sailing and motorised yachts to be the official broadcast partner for the fourth leg of the 2009 Honda race calendar.

CLASS 1 POWERBOATS - MARITIMO TARGET PODIUM FINISH 27 August 2009 (299 reads)
There is growing optimism within the Maritimo Australia camp that they can follow up their double podium success in Norway in this weekend’s Romanian Grand Prix.
The team carried out shakedown tests with both boats on Mamaia’s Lake Siutghiol yesterday, giving Maritimo 12 throttleman, Peter ‘Muddy’ McGrath, his first outing on the course. “It’s a good circuit. The dog-leg turn after the start-finish line is going to be interesting if they leave it as it is, especially if several boats go into it at the same time,” he said. “It’s pretty fast. We saw 147mph on the long back straight, but some of the corners are quite tight.

POWERBOAT P1 - GREVE: WE WILL IMPROVE 26 August 2009 (338 reads)
Pilot Siegfried Greve is adamant his #66 Cranefields Wine team can learn from a difficult 2009 to emerge as a more competitive outfit in next year's Powerboat P1 World Championship.
The German outfit endured a tough Grand Prix of the Sea in Gothenburg last time out - failing to complete either race over the weekend - and currently lie in sixth spot in the Evolution-class standings with one round of the season remaining. "In Sweden we were plagued by "10 per cent" parts - after we switched back to our 2008 hull we had all of these small problems which has been disappointing. In Saturday's Sprint race we realised we had an overheated engine, forcing us to stop to avoid serious damage.

ZAPCATS - BLUE SHEETS RACING LEADS THE WAY IN LEITH 26 August 2009 (295 reads)
Rounds 11 & 12 of the Zapcat National Championship saw 20 of the 2009 Zapcat teams head to Leith Docks in Edinburgh over the weekend.
Crowds lined the Ocean Terminal Shopping centre to watch the racing as all the action unfolded over the course of the two days.
Having made the long journey from the south coast current championship leaders Bluesheets Racing 1, Zapcat 03 Craig Davis and Rob Martin were determined to make an impact north of the border to take them one step closer to the 2009 title.

CLASS 1 POWERBOATS - CAN MARITIMO AND WELMAX CARRY THE FIGHT TO VICTORY TEAM? 25 August 2009 (293 reads)
Defending World Champions, Victory Team, will be confident that they can tighten their grip and extend their lead at the top of the Championship standings in this weekend’s Romanian Grand Prix (28-30 August) on Lake Siutghiol, Mamaia-Constanta, round 3 of the UIM WPPA Class 1 World Powerboat Championship.
The Dubai team has dominated the season so far, and after wins for both Victory’s Mohammad Al Mehairi and Jean-Marc Sanchez and Fazza’s Arif Al Zafeen and Nadir Bin Hendi, the in-house rivalry for bragging rights is building. Victory 1 currently holds the advantage and the number one slot with a five- point margin over their team-mates, with Sanchez and Al Zafeen – now team rivals – who won together in Romania 2007, both aiming for the race win.

ZAPCATS RECEIVE SCOTTISH SUNSHINE AND WARM WELCOME IN EDINBURGH 23 August 2009 (308 reads)
Twenty Zapcat teams took the high road to Edinburgh for rounds 11 & 12 of the Zapcat National Championship today. They were greeted by Scottish sunshine, gusting winds and superb crowds creating fantastic conditions for the inaugural Edinburgh Zapcat Grand Prix.
Rookie Championship leaders in division 2 travelled from Southampton for the Grand Prix, Certain Death, Zapcat 21 pilot Luke Wills and Kevin Lott were determined to turn up their championship campaign after their long journey.

F1 POWERBOATS "GURU" FABIAN KALSOW PUTS ON A SHOW 22 August 2009 (360 reads)
One of the hardest working drivers on the U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship tour when it comes to promoting his race team is Fabian Kalsow who again in front of thousands of fans recently put on a two day show in his hometown of Neustadt in Germany.
The 27 year-old had one of the biggest two seater events in the history of the sport when he attracted thousands of spectators to the Seventh “Formula 1 Powerboat Promotion Event” in Germany this year. It was a long two days for the one time German S550 champion but very worthwhile at the same time as he put in over 150 laps in his specially modified two seat Molgaard F1 boat used for promotional events.
