POWERBOAT P1 ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP

Powerboat P1 has confirmed a new broadcast partnership with the American-based company, Mav TV, which will deliver its World Championship series to over seven million homes.
 
Launched in October 2004, Mav TV is a 24-hour digital television network targeting men aged 18-54, providing them with an exciting blend of sports, movies, comedy, gambling, business news, lifestyle information, gadgets and adventure.

ZAPCATS RACE TO EDINBURGH

After a 3 year absence Zapcat Racing the World’s largest one design powerboat championship returns to Scottish waters as they head Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Zapcat Grand Prix on the 22nd & 23rd August.

Racing at Leith Docks, Edinburgh will see the National Championship head to another brand new racing location for the series as they battle it out during rounds 11 & 12 of the 14 round championship.

The feisty little catamarans will put on a spectacular show for the people of Edinburgh as they battle it out over two days in 16 heats of racing for the title of Edinburgh Zapcat Grand Prix winners.

Now in her fourth year of competing in the Formula 4 Stroke Offshore Powerboat race series, Rose Lores has her eyes firmly set on getting her hands on some silverware.

After three difficult seasons, Rose re-launched her bid for the top at her 50th birthday party in April 2009, at the same time unveiling her new-look boat, now sporting a new orange livery and a new name Eclipse, for her sponsors, Berkshire-based relationship marketing company, Eclipse Marketing. She also introduced her new navigator for the season, Sara Cureton, whose husband races another boat in the series, giving the girls an extra edge to their competitive spirit.

FALKOWSKI: WE WILL NOT LET UP

Jan Falkowski is refusing to rest on his laurels despite his team holding a healthy 75-point lead going into the final Grand Prix of the Sea in Sicily next month.

The #47 Silverline crew of Falkowski and Drew Langdon have been a model of consistency throughout their maiden season competing in the Evolution-class having scored points in every round of 2009.

And throttleman Falkowski is delighted with the team's progress thus far having made the long-awaited switch from SuperSport in the close season.

Peter Bonham Christie and Tilly Long of Team Isis compete for the European Thundercat Powerboat Title.

After great success competing in the UK, Team Isis decided to take on the best teams of Europe in the 2009 Thundercat European Championships held in Oregrund, Sweden. The Swedish are renound powerboat racers and take the sport to another level, so competition was always going to be tough.
 
“This our first season in the Thundercat Class and we weren’t sure how we would rank compared to the rest of Europe, however we decided we would never know unless we tried.

F1 POWERBOATS - ANDERSSON CLAIMS SECOND WIN IN RUSSIA

Three drivers who failed to finish twenty-four hours ago were the hero's today at the 6th round of the 2009 U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship for power boating with Jonas Andersson coming from third off the grid to grab the lead for good on the very first lap to win for the first time in over a year and pick up 20 valuable championship points at the Eighth Grand Prix of Russia in St. Petersburg.

The Team Azerbaijan driver from Sweden held off the field for 35 laps and three restarts and now slides into third position with 52 after winning for the third time in his career and his second on the Neva River.

POWERBOAT P1 - HOOK AND SGRO MAKING SPEEDY RECOVERY

#77 Lucas Oil Outerlimits pilot Nigel Hook has pronounced himself "as fit as a twenty-year-old" and ready to race in next month's season finale.

Hook and team-mate Joe Sgro sustained minor injuries following the accident involving their boat in last Sunday's Endurance race, an incident deemed serious enough to prompt Race Control to temporarily suspend the event.

"We are both fine," confirmed Hook. "In better shape than the boat anyway. There's a little bit of soreness there."

ZAPCAT RACING ANNOUNCES CELTIC CUP AND HOME NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP

It is with great pleasure that we can announce the return of Zapcat Racing going North of the Border - 22nd & 23rd August we will be in Edinburgh for National Championships Rounds 11 & 12 and again on the 12th & 13th September in Braehead near Glasgow for the Braehead & Clyde Waterfront Home Nations GP, a Special Event as part of the Celtic Cup. (Overall winner from both Scottish Events).

We had not planned on introducing a double header in Scotland until 2010 but the opportunity arose, so we had to take it - this means a Special Event in Scotland, with hopefully another Special to follow in October to be announced soon.

Jorn Tandberg will be looking to end his run of bad luck at the Romanian Grand Prix on Lake Siutghiol, Mamaia-Constanta, 28-30 August.

The Welmax team boss and throttleman has confirmed that fellow Norwegian, Kolbjorn Selmer, will again take the wheel as they look to break the jinx that sidelined the MTI-designed Mercury V8-powered Welmax in the opening two races of the season.

POWERBOAT P1 - TEAM SW1 CAPITAL AND SNAV OSG TAKE GP OF THE SEA HONOURS

#26 Team SW1 Capital and #88 SNAV OSG have been named Scandinavian Grand Prix of the Sea champions in the SuperSport and Evolution classes respectively.

Brits Daniel Cramphorn and Kim Collins secured their first Grand Prix of the Sea title after winning both the Sprint and Endurance races in Gothenburg with ease and subsequently edge towards the leading pack in the overall SuperSport Championship standings.

Driver Cramphorn said: "We're halfway to achieving what we set out to do by winning the four remaining races this season. We have won more races than any other SuperSport team and we are looking forward to celebrating in style!"
