After five Grands Prix and eight races, the fight for the coveted Class 1 World title has come down to the wire and will be decided next weekend, 10 -12 December, in the final two races of the season in the Emirates/Dubai Duty Free Dubai Grand Prix.
With the Victory Team having already secured a remarkable ninth Class 1 World title, the only unanswered question is which of the Dubai-based team’s two thoroughbreds will emerge victorious on their home waters and in front of a partisan crowd and lift the trophy - Fazza or Victory 1?
Just eight points separate Fazza and Victory 1 in what has been a titanic struggle for supremacy all season, with the Championship lead changing hands race-by-race.

F2 POWERBOATS – WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FLAG IN SIGHT 05 December 2009 (299 reads)
5 days of racing over the 13th to 18th December will see the Jelf Racing team head to Fujairah in the UAE for the final 2 rounds of the F2 World Championship and the F2 Continental Cup.
Reigning World Champion Colin Jelf is tying for first in the championship with Italy’s Alex Carella heading into the 3rd round of contest which will be held over the 13th & 14th December. Confident that he is in a good position to retain his title for a fourth year, Colin’s experience in racing will not allow him to get complacent as he knows there is still a great deal of work to do with Carella, Johan Coenradi (NED) and Brother Owen Jelf all in good positions to steal his crown from him.

F1 POWERBOATS - JAY PRICE BACK IN THE GAME WITH ABU DHABI WIN 05 December 2009 (762 reads)
Defending World Champion Jay Price of the Qatar Team scored his third victory of the season and his sixth of his career and moved himself back into the 2009 U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship picture with his 12.68 second victory at the 17th Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in front of tens of thousands of race fans along the corneiche in front of downtown Abu Dhabi.
The American flew off at the start and moved past Finnish driver Sami Selio of the Mad Croc sponsored boat that had just set a new record of seven pole positions in one season, but as Selio was dropping back into third place with Guido Cappellini moving from third into second and charging.

F1 POWERBOATS – GREAT RESULT FOR BRIT GOODMAN 05 December 2009 (269 reads)
UK Powerboat racer Malcolm Goodman competed in his first F1 race last weekend in Doha, Qatar. Racing as the second driver in the internationally renowned F1 Team, Team Qatar Goodman was invited to fulfil a life time achievement to race on the circuit to replace an injured Andy Elliott who broke his back earlier in the season.
Goodman, aged 27, from Prescot in Merseyside saw himself lined up against some of the best powerboat pilots in the world for the first of the 3 last rounds of the championship he will compete in over the next few weeks.

F1 H2O World Championship of power boating drivers standings at the 17th Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi on the edge of the Arabian Sea Friday afternoon.

POWERBOAT P1 - YALTA TO HOST UKRAINIAN GRAND PRIX OF THE SEA 04 December 2009 (319 reads)
The city of Yalta will make its first-ever appearance on the Powerboat P1 race calendar in 2010, after senior officials of the National Ukrainian Powerboat Federation and Powerboat P1 Management Ltd concluded an agreement earlier this week.
Following initial conversations between the organisations in July 2008 and ongoing discussions during the 2009 season, the inaugural Ukrainian Grand Prix of the Sea will take place on May 7-9, 2010. Yalta will host the second-leg of next year’s championship after the season-opener in Split, Croatia, on April 16-18.

POWERBOAT P1 - MONTANARI: WE WILL BE STRONGER IN 2010 01 December 2009 (360 reads)
Montanari and Blue Shaft are looking to improve results in 2010#28 Blue Shaft throttleman Federico Montanari has vowed that his team will improve following a mixed 2009 season in the Powerboat P1 World Championship.
Montanari, partnered by fellow Italian Alfredo Zanardo, finished sixth in the SuperSport class last term, just ahead of family rival Alfredo Nuzzo in the #22 Big Sergio boat. Reliability played an important role in Blue Shaft's triumph over their boat-mate: "The regulations in Powerboat P1 ensure that reliability as well as speed is rewarded in terms of points, and we certainly benefited from this, having finished 80 or 90% of the races."
