Once again Watergate was a really good event for me and Rob. It is one of our favorite venues as we really love to race in the surf.
It was a good weekends racing and we had a few good battles with the brilliant Mr Fraser and Naz from Rana Park and the boys from Team Speedy Hire who really kept us on our toes.
The surf was a nice size for the start of the season although I personally would have preferred to have a bit more size to the swell. It was perfect conditions for those who have never raced in the surf before and you could see by the end of the weekend how peoples driving and awareness of the conditions improved.

Watergate is always an exciting venue and this weekend didn’t disappoint.
Nial and James were moved up to the first division after Bournemouth and Saturday was a steep learning curve for both of them; Nial having never driven in surf and James never having been in surf before in the Zapcat.

Well its only a few days until we head to Watergate bay in Newquay for the first event of the king of the surf and for the second Grand Prix of the season. For the last two years we’ve come runner up in the King of the Surf contest, so we’re hoping to do well this year.

What a blinding start to the season. Robbie and I couldn’t have asked for a better start, with two gold Medals and the Grand Prix title at one of our favourite venues, Bournemouth.
There were anticipations and apprehensions going into the first grand prix of the season; As you never know how fast your boat really is.

Firstly I would like to say well done to Craig and Nial for a good weekends' racing ! And thank you to all the people on the beach who helped and gave support when we crashed. We were over whelmed with help and offers of spare boats and engine parts THANK YOU ALL !!!
Unfortunately, I didn't have such a good start to the season unlike my team mates Craig and Nial.

As Bournemouth drew near we were all a little apprehensive after last year’s two disasters which happened before the boats touched the water en route to Bournemouth (popped boat and rear ended on duel carriageway).
On Saturday they came second in first race - a promising start, until Nial got washed out of the boat, and his prescription glasses disappeared into the depths forcing them to retire for the day and leg it to vision express.
