We were racing a new venue that hadn't been raced for 9 years. We were the first class to race this venue from the shore line.

Saturday morning, we hit the dry pits where we had to launch the boat and at a maximum of 6 knots drove around to the wet pits by the track in the Hoe.

The weather was terrible, raining, overcast, we could hardly see where we were going.

We got to the wet pits and we had a floating pontoon that we had to moor the boat too.

Bluesheets III had kindly lent us a spare engine as ours is still being looked at for the loss in compression and speed. A big thank you to Nial and James, great team spirit from you two once again.

We went out for practice and felt that the engine was performing much better. We were pulling an average of 35 knots where our engine was pulling around 25 knots.

We started off in Div 1 and found ourselves struggling to stay in the pack. We tried everything again from our positions to the way we took corners but just couldn't keep up. Dan eventually said that the boat was set up for the old engine. As we had borrowed one that performed far better we needed to adjust our set ups for the new engine we borrowed.

We tried a different in every heat for the last 3 heats. We had finished the heats of the day and found that we had missed the final by 1 position.

Bluesheets I finished the final in 1st place again securing some valuable team and championship points. Bluesheets III were in the final for Div 2 and also finished in 1st place. This saw Bluesheets Racing taking Gold for both Div 1 and Div 2. Well Done Boys!!

Sunday came and the weather had cleared up except it was still cloudy and we still had a few showers through the day.

Dan and I had moved down to Div 2 and Bluesheets III had moved up to Div 1. We thought that being in Div 2 may give us the opportunity to gain some points and hopefully secure another podium.

We had a great start to the days racing with coming 1st twice and 2nd twice in our heats, to find that boat 44 Steve and Bobby had done their usual thing of bumping on the course and getting us DQ'd pushing us into the back of the boat in front.

We knew that we still had a 1st and 2x 2nd so should still be in a good position in the final. The last heat for us was a shocker and we finished it mid pack leaving us with a place in the final but it being 6th.

We started the final and pushed ourselves into about 4th place. 2 laps to the finish we came around the front left buoy close to the boat in front. As their spray hurtled towards us we couldn't see anything including the buoy as so drove straight into it getting us DQ'd in the final.

Bluesheets I came first in the final securing 1st place on both days and Bluesheets III unfortunately retired as they had missed 2 heats due to changing their broken prop guard.

The results were announced and Bluesheets I had won overall on both days securing another 200 points and Bluesheets Racing remain Top of the Team Championship Board as well as Bluesheets I remaining at the top of the championship board.

We are now approaching rounds 9 & 10 of the Zapcat National Championship 2009 which will take place at Barry Island on 1st and 2nd of August. We appreciate that not everyone can make it to watch but we would be grateful if you could for the support. For those of you that can't make it but would like to watch, you can online live at www.zapcat-racing.com or www.tiger24.com. Please feel free to add any comments so we know if there is anything you think we could do better to keep you updated with the latest racing news from Bluesheets Racing / National Championship.
