After Team Bladerun put in a very professional weekends racing in Edinburgh, Blue Sheets 1 have been working hard along with the other Blue Sheets teams to get their fleet back up to the heights that they had been achieving.

Nial, and Dan have both been joined by a new co-pilot for Prestatyn, with Nial being accompanied in the boat by Aaron Joyce who, although has only one weekends racing under his belt, is very experienced, taking his place as a previous National Champions practice co-pilot for the previous two years, while Dan will be joined by returning National Champion Baz Minns looking to create a winning team.

The Blue Sheets have been practicing for the conditions that are expected at Prestatyn arriving back on a beach from the previous two Grand Prix’s on flat water, which is the preferred conditions for the Blue Sheets teams to show their dominance, requiring the closest teamwork to get the best performance out of the boat.

Although Dan had a very successful first days racing in division 1 with Naomi in Edinburgh, he was unable to capitalise on it in Sunday’s racing with an unfortunate but well documented and spectacular airborne moment during Sunday’s racing.

With his new co-pilot in the boat for Prestatyn he has been working hard to make sure he continues to progress well, and cement his position in division 1 and bring home the points for Team Blue Sheets in the 2010 Championship, after a closely fort battle for the Team Championship in 2009 going down to the final race of the year.

Gill have been working hard behind the scenes with Blue Sheets racing, now part of the Gill Race Team umbrella to get the wetsuits ready in time for Prestatyn.

As a beach venue, and most likely beach starts Blue Sheets prefer the flexibility, protection, and comfort a wetsuit offers over the naturally looser fit of the drysuit. Gill have provided Blue Sheets with their latest and most comfortable wetsuits for the teams, and they are looking forward to putting them through their paces in North Wales no matter what the elements have to throw at the team.

Racing at Prestatyn will hopefully create a great spectator venue and large crowds, with the chance of chop between two naturally created sand banks, and in front of the holiday resort of Pontins who are sponsoring the Grand Prix. The racing will be as tight as ever, and the OOD has promised for tight adrenaline filled action from his course design. The racing can also be watched live by streaming off the Blue Sheets Racing website.

Re: Pumped up for Prestatyn

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on this topic. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him. So I should thank you for the free lunch I got.
