On show on the Gill
stand, N035C, at The 2008 London
Boat Show
The
new Coast-Sport Jacket from Gill brings laminate fabric technology to the
coastal racer, cruiser and powerboater. The clean lines of the design give
it a sporty look, allowing it to be worn anywhere.
The new laminate fabric technology gives the jacket a softer, quieter feel,
without compromising on performance, in fact, breathability is significantly
increased. The effect is to produce a jacket that is the most comfortable
in its class.
Commenting on the introduction of the new fabric, Chairman Nick Gill said,
“The fabric used for the Coast-Sport is a Gill 3-Dot laminate fabric. The
difference between a traditionally coated material and the latest laminate
technology is that a coated fabric has the waterproof layer spread on to the
textile material, and the weave has to be filled in before a fully
waterproof layer can be achieved. The laminate system, however, has a
paper-thin waterproof layer separately applied and adhered to the textile.
The end result is a fabric that has a much softer handle without it
compromising performance and durability. The breathability is also
considerably higher.”
Other key features are the bonded micro-fleece lined collar and hand warmer
pockets that provide comfort and warmth without making the garment heavy or
bulky in these areas. A fully waterproof lightweight hood is stowed in the
collar, again, with limited additional bulk.

NEW 415 IS
A HIT FOR BROADBLUE WITH A FULL ORDER BOOK FOR 2008
The
stunning Broadblue 415, the latest model from the UK's leading catamaran
manufacturer, Broadblue Catamarans, has become a resounding success
following its world debut at the Southampton Boat Show. Within a month of
its launch, orders for the impressive 415 have already filled Broadblue
Catamarans' 2008 order book, firmly and deservedly establishing the model's
position between the highly popular 385 and the luxurious 435 in Broadblue's
outstanding range of blue water cruisers. The company continues to have test
sails booked by potential owners throughout October and anticipates further
sales success as a result.
New Sales
Manager, Rupert Knox-Johnston states; "Traditionally catamaran builders have
overlooked the private owner in favour of the charter market. The success of
the 415 proves a growing number of yachtsmen recognise Broadblue as the
clear choice for bluewater cruising. She is a wonderful addition to our
expanding fleet and I am thrilled with her success."
The
Broadblue 415 is an ideal family cruiser with remarkable accommodation and
ample live aboard space. As a semi custom builder Broadblue are delighted to
offer a variety of layout options. The Broadblue 415 is also the first model
within the fleet available with OSSA Powerlite propulsion system as an
option.
Robert
Underwood, International Sales comments; "We are extremely pleased by the
fantastic response and initial success the new 415 has achieved within such
a short time frame. Our strong performance is a continuing endorsement to
our highly skilled and experienced design team, who have once again designed
a superb, high volume catamaran that is built to the highest standards. We
are looking forward to introducing her to our international customers over
the coming months,"
The end
result is a beautiful catamaran that combines comfort and elegance making
for a sleek, safe and powerful sail. She is priced at £239, 995 ex VAT.
